I was born into the world of herbs and healing. My grandmother’s Blood Purifier was in my baby bottle, and Goldenseal was the cure for every pink eye, scratch, or cold. I didn’t know it then, but I was growing up surrounded by medicine in its purest form.
My great-grandmother taught me to swallow capsules when I was six years old. By sixteen, I was already mixing my own remedies beside my grandmother, Diane Galloway, who spent over forty years healing our community through her herbal wisdom. She showed me that true wellness doesn’t come from quick fixes, but from listening to the body and nourishing it from the roots up.
In 2019, I took everything she taught me and opened Island Roots Botanicals to carry that torch forward. Every blend, every capsule, every tea here has been touched by my hands and tested in my home. I only share what I trust and what has brought real healing to me and my family.
Today, I’m continuing my studies as a Registered Clinical Herbalist, working toward the title of Master Herbalist, just like my grandmother. This isn’t just a business for me. It’s a legacy. It’s a love story between generations of women who believed in the power of the Earth to heal.

Island Roots Botanicals was founded by Zaakira Galloway, a trained clinical herbalist and the fourth generation in a family line of Caribbean herbal healers. From her great-grandmother’s backyard remedies to her grandmother’s successful wellness store in Florida, herbal medicine has always been a way of life — never a trend.
For over 40 years, this knowledge has been trusted by thousands in the community. Today, that legacy continues in Longwood, Florida — honoring tradition while evolving for the modern world.

Delivery & Returns
To make sure you get your favorite products quickly and conveniently, we’ve partnered with several delivery services to offer the best shipping options. We primarily use USPS and UPS, with FEDEX available by request. For local customers, we also offer delivery through Uber Direct and in-store pickup. Our standard processing time is 1 to 3 business days, depending on the size and customization of your order. While we’re open on Saturdays, we only count banking days as business days for processing. Free shipping orders may take up to 7 days to arrive, but Priority and Express orders are expedited through our processing system. Return and Exchange Policy We want you to love your products from Island Roots Botanicals! If you’re not completely satisfied, we’re here to help. Eligibility for Returns Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging. Perishable goods (like teas and herbs) and custom-made products are non-refundable unless they arrive damaged or defective. How to Initiate a Return Contact Us: Email us at islandrootsbotanicals@gmail.com with your order number and reason for return. Please include a photo if the item is damaged or defective. Wait for Approval: We’ll respond within 2 business days with instructions and the return shipping address if your request is approved. Ship the Item: Once approved, send the item back to us using a trackable shipping method. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is damaged or defective. Refunds and Exchanges Refunds: Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll process your refund. It may take 5–7 business days for the funds to appear in your account. Exchanges: If you’d prefer a replacement item, let us know in your initial email. We’ll ship it out as soon as your return is processed. Non-Returnable Items Clearance items, gift cards, and products marked as “final sale” are non-returnable. We’re happy to answer any questions about returns or exchanges.
